About

Writing a requirement and creating the conditions for people to meet it are two different jobs.

I’m Sandra Farquhar, Founder & Principal Consultant of TrustShyft™. I do the second job. I lead improvement work from first conversation to handover.

In more than 20 years in government, regulated and commercial environments, I learned to make decisions traceable, keep leaders informed, and plan for what happens after go-live, not just the launch.

My postgraduate study in applied behaviour analysis shapes how I approach change: processes and controls hold when the conditions around people support them. That idea runs through my business improvement work and my Behavioural Governance for AI™ framework.

Relevant experience

The kinds of work I’ve delivered.

From my career before founding TrustShyft.

Government digital transformation

Supporting complex government technology and operational change, including requirements, implementation, operational readiness and transition to ongoing support.

Regulated technology

Working with requirements, business processes and governance for identity verification and regulated technology solutions where accuracy and appropriate controls matter.

Systems implementation and transition

Supporting implementation, testing, operational readiness, support models, documentation, knowledge transfer and business-as-usual handover.

Process and governance improvement

Identifying operational gaps, improving workflows, clarifying responsibilities and implementing processes that people can follow.

How I work

Find the gap, then change the conditions.

I start by finding where the way work is meant to happen differs from how it happens day to day, and why.

Then I change the conditions around it: the process, the system, the reporting and the handover, so the new way of working is the easy one to follow.

Programme Shyft™

Alongside my consulting work, I’m developing Programme Shyft™, a construction programme review and client reporting platform for owner’s representatives, consulting project managers, developers and small to mid-sized builders.

The idea grew from the same issues I work with through TrustShyft: information spread across systems, manual processes, time spent reconciling updates and the importance of knowing who reviewed and confirmed a decision.

Programme Shyft is designed to use AI to help identify and bring together relevant project information, while keeping project professionals responsible for what is reviewed, confirmed and communicated to clients.

It’s a product venture developed under TrustShyft, separate from my consulting services, and the approach reflects how I work as a consultant: understand the problem, improve the process and build accountability into the solution.
